Wine Item Detail

Item Description:
Biggio Hamina 2008 Pinot Grigio - Cougar's Mark Vineyard

Tasting Notes:
There is a very good reason Todd refers to this bottling as a Grigio, rather than a Gris. He truly did produce this in more of an Italian style; lighter, higher in acidity, less cloying with some significant minerality. The fruit was sourced from the Cougar’s Mark Vineyard, which is tucked away in the Coast Range Foothills, west of McMinnville. The small vineyard was planted in 1994 to less than four acres. Aromas of dusty rose, wet cement and honey drizzled pear with a touch of apricot and flint unravel into a pretty little number. This graceful, light weight, silky and seriously fun sipper exudes Meyer lemon, minerals and nectarine essence with perfectly balanced acidity. The seemingly delicate grigio is enveloping and seems to linger on for an eternity.
