Wine Item Detail Item Description:Beaux Freres 2006 Pinot Noir - Beaux Freres Vineyard Tasting Notes: There is a reason we have not carried the Beaux Freres since 2002. When you are attempting to sell a wine in the $80 category it has to be great. Not good, not showing potential, but instant gratification great. This is not to imply that previous vintages have not been well made wines, they just aren't as seductive and hedonistic as the 2006. Parker, who is the brother-in-law of winemaker, Mike Etzel, and an investor in Beaux Freres, wrote "the sexiest, most hedonistic wine from this vineyard site to date. For that reason, we think it is among the finest wines we have ever produced." From this unbiased perspective I agree with Parker, the 2006 has everything you should expect, or more accurately demand from a bottle of wine with this type of reputation and price tag. It's a delicious, seamless integration of fruit, wood, tannin, acidity and alcohol - all the little things that separate a good wine from a great wine. Rating: 93 RESERVE IT!>> >>Back |
