Wine Item Detail

Item Description:
Ayoub 2008 Pinot Noir

Tasting Notes:
Mo Ayoub has one of the smallest vineyards in Oregon. Less than four acres, this perfectly aligned site in the Dundee Hills ripens just enough fruit to produce around 400 cases per year. Beautifully balanced yet closed presently, the Ayoub 2008 Pinot noir is subtle. Some spice, slight raspberry and freshly turned soil evolve into elegance. It needs at least three hours of decanting at this point. Right out of the bottle it is a bit boring like most of the early released 2008s. It does gain depth and weight if left opened overnight. This is usually a sign of a wine which has the ability to age. The vintage is quite reminiscent of Oregon 2002, and is a wine that needs another year in order for it to be appreciated in its entirety.
