Domaine Drouhin 2006 Pinot Noir - Laurene

Tasting Notes:
On the nose, imagine baking a cherry pie and simmering mulling cider in an old farmhouse with an alfalfa field in full bloom in the distance. This is combined with that signature Dundee Hills tobacco spice, a little bit of that earthy characteristic coupled with a lot of dark, sexy fruit. Tart pie cherries on top of vanilla bean ice cream dance on the palate, but also with an element of restraint. Cuban Cohiba in a cedar wrap creates a wine that is seductively accessible, with a finish that lingers. The tannins are not bashful, but are not overwhelming either; expensive French oak that does not require tweezers.
